make this a cleaner, healthier worldMany honest and hardworking charitable organizations simply take a small percentage of the money donated to keep their engines running. That's perfectly legitimate, and it's (usually) kept to a reasonable amount.
However, we decided very early on that 100% of the money you give us for these projects will go directly to funding the programs that help the people we're reaching out to around the world. Seriously, every thin dime.

To achieve that 100% donation model, we're even going to pay all the processing and transaction fees from our administration funds so that everything you give will go toward project interventions and making a difference. We're that committed—and we feel it's just the right way to do this kind of thing.
We use Amazon for collecting donations over the others because they take significantly less in processing costs for the donations under $10 than any of the others. That saves the money to do the good works.
We're not going to keep hassling you for money every couple of weeks. We know how annoying that becomes, so giving us $3 isn't going to add you to some list where we'll keep asking you for more for the rest of your life. We also promise that we'll never, ever sell your information to anyone else.
When you donate with one of the buttons above, you'll get a one-time thank you and an email from Amazon that you can print as your receipt. When you give again at a later date, you'll just get another thank you. What you won't get is us emailing again and asking you for more than you can give.
If you would like togive a larger amount but can't all at once, we're also working on the option of recurring smaller donations over a year.
If you can't give a lot of money but you still want to help out, there's still so much you can do through social activism. Tell your friends, parents, and family members. Like us on Facebook

and send everyone you know to www.sum1.org and get the word out about what we're doing to fix the sanitation problem.
What this also means that here at "SUM1 Mission Control" we have been donating our own time, money, and personal resources to making this happen—and we aren't getting paid for it yet. We still need money for basic administrative costs like advertising, office supplies, web hosting, professional fees for lawyers and accountants... and eventually some reasonable salaries. But we've decided to follow in the footsteps of other transparent charities and find that revenue from other sources like grants and private funding.
We need to hire professionals to help us raise the funds to change the world, as well as necessary people like lawyers and accountants. We're committed to doing those things before we even start taking salaries ourselves. We have a vital need for annual donations, corporate sponsorships, and grants in order to pay for all this stuff. If you are able and willing to help with that, please please do drop us a line and let us know how you can help in that regard as well.
